I’ve yet to share anything about this segment of my first trip to Hawaii (September), the one that includes flying to the Big Island and driving from Hilo and staying in the Waikoloa area of North Kona. Still, I wanted to upload this image of a gecko I met while walking the grounds of the King Kamehameha Hotel in Kona to visit the Ahu’ena Helau.

I had a lovely encounter this little creature, who followed my camera and I around long enough for me to make at least 100 portraits of him/her.

This is one of my favorites.

is going sailing in a catamaran. weee!

is quickly discovering that when it comes to Waikiki drive-ins, “grilled” really means lightly fried on the grill plate. Ha!

Today, I swam until the sun set the horizon sky on fire and spilled liquid gold into the ocean. It was magical.
